The Simplest Beauty

In the woods, we return to reason and faith. There I feel that nothing can befall me in life, – no disgrace, no calamity (leaving me my eyes), which nature cannot repair.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

As the days shorten, the leaves change color, and the fall rolls in, I begin to feel sadness for the loss of summer. The lighting is different, more sullen, more subdued and it causes my mood to follow. Forlorn, melancholy, grey…. somber.

I must remember to not feel such a loss as fall approaches, but rather a complete acceptance of change. For if I do not accept the change, I am resisting and all resisting leads to sorrow, disappointment and loss of self. I must look at fall as my teacher, as my guiding light because with each turn of season there is new growth, new opportunities and a new beauty.

This video has brought to light my need to use nature as my inspiration, for the universe provides all answers if you let it. The video depicts the delicateness of our world and its ability to create beauty out of every moment. Through those ever changing moments, we are reminded that change challenges us to create a new perspective, one that is not created out of loss but out of appreciation, gratification and love.

Our lives constantly change like the seasons, but it is up to us to find the beauty in the change.
