A Note about Blenders: While any blender will blend, not all blenders make Bliss. I have tried the top blenders on the market, and Vitamix has it down. There are the ONLY company that has figured out how to blend drinks to perfection so that they taste like smooth hot chocolate, no chunks, bumps or grains. It happens to be short of magic, and an integral part of smoothie making. If you make this without a Vitamix, it will be tasty but don’t blame me if you do not see rainbows- the Vitamix gives it that rainbow-type effect ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Lauren,

Happy to have found your blog. Thank you for putting time and effort into it. It shows!
I e-mailed the company Sun Fire to find out about the maca used in the Chocolate Bliss as I am very intrigued by it and would like to buy it! (I still need to mull it over as the price is quite high!) Anyways, I asked whether or not the maca was gelatinized because I have been told that gelatinized maca is easier to digest and in turn, “better” for you. The lovely woman at Sun Fire wrote back and said it was not gelatinized – it was only minamally processed and thus had higher nutritional value.

    NOW I’M CONFUSED!
I am hearing contradictory information on Maca.
Could you possibly help me understand which Maca (gelatinized vs. ungelatinized) is better for one’s health? From which will I get the benefits it claims to have? Does it matter? Or maybe it is the Brand that matters (i.e. the quality) ?

    Thanks so much,
    Sophie

Hi Sophie, I personally have been using the Sun Fire Maca for over 2 years now and have loved it. It has really made a difference in balancing my hormones which were really out of whack because of birth control. I take 1 tbs daily and feel that it has been an integral part of my health improvements, especially energy. As for the quality, I have personally found that the ungelatinized is best after consulting with a few different manufactures and biochemists who have been working in the industry for a long time. Another reason that I love Sun Fire is that it tests energetically really strong. I use muscle testing in my practice which is a technique that can determine the energetic strength of a substance, based on its quality, purity and therefore ability to create a strong cellular vibration (energy). Furthermore, the Sun Fire Maca is from a pure source, is not radiated when transported, and I have seen people do really well on it. Finally, I know the CEO of Sun Fire and trust his practices ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope that helps you!
